Name Givings
A name giving is a fullfilling and meaningful ceremony experience for all concerned. A naming ceremony is an excellent way for parents to formally welcome their new child into the community and celebrate the childs life with close family and friends. It is also an expression of cultural joy, hope and acceptance.
It is a non-religious ceremony allowing the child to choose their own beliefs and values when they are older. There are no age limits to a naming ceremony and can include older children, step children and blended family members.
It is a tradition for the parents to select mentors or guardians who they know will take a vested interest in their child and guide them into adulthood.

These are more commonly known as god parents, guardians or mentors to your child.
We encourage participation of family members and special people in the childs and parents lives during the ceremony through readings and poems especially chosen for the occasion.
Rituals can be performed such as lighting candles, releasing balloons, a wish box, time capsule and many other commemorative ideas.

Keepsakes are available to always remember your childs naming ceremony.
Naming ceremonies are not only for babies, it is a great way to welcome step children to a family, a name change or adoption. Age is no limit.
We are happy to offer ideas and suggestions at the consultation to make your day a treasured moment in time to CHERISH always. We are here to personalise your ceremony to the way you want it to be.

We have a large range of readings, poems, blessings & rituals for you to choose from so you can really have a unique, personal and memorable ceremony in your own way.

A certificate is presented to your child and god parents/mentors and appreciation certificates can be presented to other family members that play a huge role in your childs life as a momento and recognition of the occasion. All certificates are presented in a glossy presentation folder. Most services are held for approximately 15-20 minutes.

You can hold your ceremony at home, in a park, function venue almost anywhere. If you are holding your ceremony anywhere apart from home you will need to contact your local shire or council to book and payments are sometimes required. We suggest to book your venue at least 6-8 weeks in advance to avoid any disappointments.
The ceremony is not a legal ceremony and no birth certificates will have to be sighted by the Celebrant. The naming ceremony is an officiated ceremony only.

We suggest to check weather details, availablity of friends and family, times to fit with a babies sleep routine and a rehersal can be arranged if you are hesitant about the outcome of the ceremony. If you are having the ceremony at home consider a shaded area with chairs for guests. When choosing an outside venue consider the noise levels and parking for guests.

You will be required to send out the invitations, select any music to be played at the ceremony (we can assist you with a list of popular naming day music at your consultation), organise photos, videos (if required), food and drink for your guests, arriving to and from the venue, any additional decorations to help celebrate the event.
Firstly, we are glad you have chosen us to book your ceremony. You will not be disappointed. Firstly, we meet you and your child at an arranged time convienient for both parties. At this FREE consultation we will discuss your ceremony wishes, order of service, rituals, keepsakes, certificates and inclusions. The Celebrant will show you a choice of ceremonies and readings and poems/blessings.
You do not have to decide at the consulation on which ceremony layout you wish to choose. Your Celebrant will take all your details and requests and then email or mail you a copy that they will consider relevant to your wishes. We usually find that we will email or phone each other a few times to double check all information and then a final proof is sent to you and confirmed by the Celebrant.
This is very individual and you can make as many changes as you like through this stage. Once the final proof has been confirmed then the Celebrant will print copies for all guests attending, including the certificates and will organise the personalisation of any keep sakes or commemorative items you have chosen to include in your ceremony.
We like to allow 2 weeks from the confirmation of the proof to the date of the ceremony. This allows us time for prnting and organisation of your ceremony.
At the consultation if you decide that you definately wish for us to perform your naming ceremony we will ask you to sign a consent form and pay all monies upfront at the consultation. Payment plans can be arranged also. A receipt will be given to you on the receival of full payment.
